This kind of tile could be used to prevent trees from growing, however some bushes may grow on it, like rose, but nothing else.

A tundra is often a good hunting spot because animals tend to walk to open places, however tundra does not spawn animals.
To remove it, simply dig it once. Tundra should be treated with care, as it cannot be created, so out of respect for a great majority of the player base's wishes, it is advisable to avoid destroying tundra tiles.
