Horseshoes increase the speed of a horse. How much speed is gained is a factor of:
* QL of the horseshoe
* the casted power of [[Wind of ages]] or [[Blessings of the dark]]
* the rarity of the shoe
The effects of each of these factors is additive.

*Horseshoes are damaged with every step take damage while the horse takes while is mounted. Horseshoes are not damaged on horses being led.*The speed enhancement depends on the quality Horseshoes made out of the equipped horseshoes[[gold]], with a higher speed bonus at higher quality.*Enchantment with [[Wind of Agessilver]] , or [[Blessings electrum]] use [[jewelry smithing]] skill to improve instead of the dark[[blacksmithing]] will also add a speed enhancementskill. Blacksmithing skill is still used to create them, with a higher speed bonus and determines quality level at higher enchantment power.*Speed bonuses increase smoothly with increasing QL and enchantment powercreation.*Horseshoes that turn rare, supreme, or fantastic will give an added speed bonus. Rare: 0.48 km/h speed bonus. Supreme: 0.96 km/h speed bonus. Fantastic: 1.44 km/h speed bonuscannot be worn by horses still in the foal stage.
