It all started when me seanstinson,and vogar were living in another area and then all moved on to go different ways and then vogar set up a small peaceful homestead in this resource rich area as me and were closer to moicoh. Then started playing less so I had to find my way into a town so I found pupanox and then as I heard they were moving to the wild I started talking to vogar again and found I could move in with him. So he got a deed for a size 5 village and made me elder of klerat. Then started to play again so we aloud him in and found he was into healing so we made him shaman of our town and soon after he found religion with Fo. At the same time I found vynora and began to worship her ways and then converted vogar to the ways of vynora. The next day I got myself a gold coin and me and vogar decided I should upgrade us to a size 10 and then for my good deed I was made the proud mayor of Klerat. Now that we are a larger town we are deffinately looking for new members of our town and we are quite leniant with our rules and supply most of the essentials so jus PM seanstinson or one of the other officials listed above if you are interested.

==How to Download==
On the main website (http://www.wurmonline.com) you simply click the big "Launch" button on the left. This will begin download of the Java Webstart application which will load the whole game for you. == Creating an Account ==
The first thing you want to do is to create a valid account. To do this, go to the [http://www.wurmonline.com/ Wurmonline webpage] and click Register (it's free). You will be asked for a Player name and an email address. Please note that the playername can only contain Alphabetic characters and no spaces. All letters in the name but the first one will be in lowercase.

You will then receive an email to the email address you supplied, in which there will be a completion link that will take you to the page where you choose your password and Challenge phrase. Once this step is complete, you may start the game by going back to the main webpage and clicking the '[http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient.jnlp Click here to play now!]' image.

You must have the latest Java platform installed on your system to play Wurm Online. You may get Java [http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_xpi.jsp here.]

After starting Wurm you see the login screen, where you enter your character's Name and Password. Also check "I agree to the terms". Then click on the ''Play'' button.

== Getting started ==
A) There are 3 things that are considered essential to getting started:
# You need to find a source of water and find a way to carry some water with you. Go here and read this guide [[Guide To Cooking]]. It teaches you how to make a bowl but making a jar is very similar. If you run out of water you stamina bar will recharge extremely slowly and your actions will be limited

* It is strongly recommended that you form or join a [[settlement]], as cooperation is a key part of succeeding in any task.
* Try to stay close to your start town until you get the hang of the game.
* You are given a set of [[Beginners Tools]], they will stay with you when you die and re-spawn. Other items will not.

== [[Death]] and dying ==

If you die, you lose 0.25 points from some skills and 0.01 of [[body strength]], or if you die in pvp you lose only fight skill.

After death, you will see a red and black screen with a little box in the middle, where you have to choose where you want to respawn. If you are dead but cannot see that little box, type <code>/respawn</code> in the chat window.

If you have no deed, you will only be able to spawn at your current server's starter town. If you are the owner or citizen of a [[settlement]], you will be able to spawn on that settlement. If that settlement has any [[Settlement#Allies and wars|allies]], you will be able to spawn there also, if you die within 50 tiles of their center.

Your items will be on your corpse, with the exception of the newbie items you get when you first start, deeds, writs, any items you may have in a [[Bag of keeping|Bag of Keeping]] (BoK) or Master Bag of Keeping (MBoK), and other [[no-drop]] items. As long as your items are inside your corpse, they are safe from other players. You'll need to find the corpse to get them back. If the corpse has decayed, usually within 24 hours, the items that were on it will be a pile of items on the ground where you died and free for everybody to grab.

= Introduction =

Rivendell is the new name, for a newly built town, on a newly created map of Wurm. But it is the 4th incarnation, of what the concepts and beliefs, of a small group of people ([[Player:Northernstar|Northernstar]], [[Player:Clipcomet|Clipcomet]] & [[Player:Wintersolstice|Wintersolstice]]) who saw the need for change from within the game of 'Wurm Online' was needed at the player level and decided to do something about it.

So Northernstar invited the newbie Wintersolstice, who was then named Mrasshole, to join the town of [[White Templers]] on the northern coast, one of the two nearest settlement to the isle that held the [[Altar of Three]] and the [[White Light]], the other was the [[Mist|Hidden City of Mist]]. Clipcomet took the newbie under his wing and helped him out when needed. The map ended not long after and the last beta map soon would start.

When the last Beta map started Wintersolstice joined [[Player:Fathertime|Fathertime]] and a couple others, headed to the northeast corner of the map and found Haven Lake and the spot for the town of [[Haven]].

== WinterSolstice Leader ==

Started playing in Beta Map 7. Was unable to get any help from established players about how to play the game and was refered to the virtually non existent and mostly incorrect wiki, which was little or no help. After dying numerous times trying to figure out the game, headed to the White Light where he escaped a bear only to be killed by a rat in a pond. Upon trying to find his corpse with his noob treasures he was helped by a player named NorthernStar who let him hang out near his camp and explained some of the game & the gameplay to him. After about 1 week he was invited to join the town of White Templers by NorthernStar.

WinterSolstice met other players like FatherTime, Clipcomet & Lex, who gave various forms of help and or guidance. Wintersolstice decided that he would learn the game and then help out other new players he came across or saw asking Questions and not gtting answers on JK.

Then a Dev's Password was hacked and flying cows were created and the game was Reset to Beta Map 8.

Rivendell is the new name, for a newly built town, on a newly created map of Wurm. But it is the 4th incarnation, of what the concepts and beliefs, of a small group of people (Northernstar, Clipcomet & Wintersolstice) who saw the need for change from within the game of 'Wurm Online' was needed at the player level and decided to do something about it.

So Northernstar invited the newbie Wintersolstice, who was then named Mrasshole, to join the town of [[White Templers]] on the northern coast, one of the two nearest settlement to the isle that held the [[Altar of Three]] and the [[White Light]], the other was the [[Mist|Hidden City of Mist]]. Clipcomet took the newbie under his wing and helped him out when needed. The map ended not long after and the last beta map soon would start.

When the last Beta map started Wintersolstice joined Fathertime and a couple others, headed to the northeast corner of the map and found Haven Lake and the spot for the town of [[Haven]].

At the same time I found vynora and began to worship her ways and then converted vogar to the ways of vynora.
