Mayrin: /* Table of Spells */ Fixed Vynora listed as having Courier

This table is a work in progress, and is open to suggestions.

Right now it's a starting part needing a lot of polish and data, and likely having mistakes, errors, and omissions.

The goal is to create a unified, sortable location for spell statistics

Main Page / PAGENAME

Introduction
Key bindings are defined in the keybindings.txt file, which is automatically updated if you rebind keys while playing. Binds in autorun.txt will be executed on startup and these will overwrite any in keybindings.txt. These files can be found in the Wurm game directory under configs. e.g. C:\Games\Wurm\configs\default

Additionally, key binds can be combined with the Exec console command to enable a player to perform a wide range of tasks with only a few keys, swapping keybinds on the fly. See quickswitch hotkeys for more information and examples.

To access the console, press F1 (by default). You can also press ESC and then click on "Console."

Key binds
Key binds allow quick "hotkey" access to common commands and actions. The bind command requires special values as input.

bind <key> <action>
bind <key> "<[[Console#Commands|console command"

<key> is based on Java key constants. Letters and numbers represent themselves. For other keys, if you can't guess the correct name search the full KeyEvent list. Meta keys can also be specified, e.g. shift-tab or ctrl-alt-w. Available meta keys are Ctrl, Shift, and Alt. The Alt Gr key is treated as Alt (if your keyboard has one). The non-meta key must always be the last key in the combination. It is not possible to bind only meta keys.

(The numpad keys can be tricky, as they duplicate other keys on the main keyboard. They are: numpad[0-9], add, subtract, multiply, divide and decimal.)

It is also possible to bind an action to the middle mouse button, Mouse2.

NB: It's reported that mouse3 and mouse4 work for the "forward/back" buttons on a 5 button mouse.

<action> is a bindable action as listed in the table below.

bind M MINE_FORWARD

<console command> can be any console command. The console command has to be in quotes.

bind F2 "toggle inventory"

To see the current key bind you can issue the command with only the key name

bind <key>

To remove a key bind assign an empty command

bind <key> ""

You can bind keys to say things, in local chat and in other available chats.

bind <key> "say guards!"
bind <key> "say /shout Hello kingdom people!"
bind <key> "say /vil Hello village people!"
bind <key> "say /t
Enemies in local run awayyyy!"

You may also choose to change certain chat-function-based bindings like /sleep to different keys

bind <key> "say /sleep"

You can view a list of most "say" bindings by saying /help in game.

To list all key binds use the console command

dump binds

Keys bound to actions are sensitive to the mouse cursor's hover location/position and object highlight. So, if the cursor is hovering over an item in an inventory or highlighting an item on the ground (or a tile itself for other binds), and the TAKE bind key is pressed, that item will be taken. It is not necessary to left-click the mouse button in order to select an item first either; just hovering the mouse over something will allow the key bind to affect it.

Table
This table lists actions only. For commands check the console and chat commands pages.
:A note specifically about the in-game wiki. This command is bound by default to the H key. If you've managed to unbind it, you can put it back by using the bind command in your console with "toggle wikisearch" as your bound action. So if you wanted to bind H to the wiki search, you would open your console and type in exactly as below:
bind h "toggle wikisearch"

Key names
Examples
For examples of how key bindings can help you, see quickswitch hotkeys and this forum thread.

Additional autorun.txt uses
autorun.txt can be used in several other useful ways.

The following opens windows when the client loads:

toggle skills
toggle inventory
toggle stats

This stops kingdom chat from loading when the game starts, but sometimes someone gets in a message before it takes effect. Placing it at the top of the file may help.

say /kchat

You could add this to know how much sleep bonus you have when you log in. This works best at the bottom of the file.

say /sleep

You could add this to know how long the server has been up. This works best at the bottom of the file.

say /uptime

Defaults
If you want to reset your key bindings to their default state simply delete the keybindings file. A new one will be created with the default values.

Use
It is a completely random process to locate each item.

It will tell you what direction, right, left, forward/front/ahead etc and a relative distance.
Very far, far, pretty far, rather long distance, quite some distance, some distance, pretty close by, a stone throw away, practically standing on. (add more, and maybe some measure in km).

It will also tell you if someone has found it, who is carrying it, and if they are in a village, what village they are in. If someone has left the artifact somewhere, it will tell you it is in the wild. If it is in a village, it will tell you what settlement it is in. If it is in a building, it will tell you the name of the building.

eg. The gold Charm of Fo has not yet been revealed. The gold Charm of Fo is very far away ahead of you to the left.
eg. The glass Orb of Doom is carried by Malvada. Malvada is in the settlement of Mist.

If you try to use the spell on a Freedom server it will give the message " The artifact was hidden from view by the gods. " demonstrating that there are no artifacts on the freedom cluster **
Although this is not nessisarily the case with Chaos (please update)
A clay flowerpot hardened by fire.

PAGENAME is the finished product of a clay flowerpot that has been heated up in a fire.

In order to plant flowers in it, activate your flowers and select "Plant flowers" on the flowerpot.

Method
* Put the clay flowerpot in a campfire, stone oven or forge (hottest)
* Wait until the grey clay flask turns into a reddish pottery flask. It can take quite a few minutes.

Result
* Pottery flowerpot 0.60 kg

A hardened pottery flowerpot can no longer be improved, nor repaired; however, once you have planted flowers in a flowerpot, you can repair the pot by "watering" the flowers. Fill a container with water, activate the container (not the water), right-click on the pot and select "water plant". Watering the plants uses 0.1 kg of water.

[03:29:53] You start watering the flowers.
[03:30:02] You successfully watered the flowers, they look healthier.
"Longer blood lines will support more traits. (For example: A 4th generation dog can have up to 6 or so traits where a 1st generation dog (the first offspring from wild dogs) usually only have 0-3 traits.)"

Going to remove this from the notes section, as it appears to be outdated. I've been making note of every horse born on my deed since Pristine launched in December, and number of traits appears to be purely based on AH at the time of breeding (though of course, with a bit of randomness thrown in). I have data to back up that two wild horses will produce 4-5 trait babies quite frequently with 50+ AH.

Main / Skills / Nature / PAGENAME

Description
Animal husbandry allows for the production (breeding) of new creatures, sometimes with increased quality, without the need to wait for new spawns.

Characteristics gained
Soul / Soul depth

Method
*Both of the animals you wish to breed must be not hungry. One must be a male and the other one a female. Lead one of them with a rope (note that some animals must be tamed to be led) and move it close to the other one. Right-click on the animal you are not leading and select the "Breed" option.
*Grooming also gives animal husbandry skill gains. Activate a grooming brush and select groom while right-clicking on a groomable creature. You can groom animals once per hour.

Notes
* Animals must be of the same species.
* If breeding fails, you will receive a message that the male "shys away and interrupts the action".
* If breeding fails or is successful and you attempt to breed again, the male animal will show that he's "not in the mood" until 45 real life minutes pass.
* Females will not breed while they are pregnant. Once the female gives birth, the animal can breed again.
* Animals do not have to be "fat" to breed, only "no longer interested in food" (when trying to feed them). Grass eaters will typically be in this state after a minute or 2 on grass or crops.
* Age is a factor in breeding: calves or foals will not breed, neither will young/early adolescent animals.
* Breeding increases a player's soul depth.
* Pregnancy times varies from 5-11 wurm weeks, regardless of species.
* Examining the animal will show the remaining wurm weeks left until birth. eg. She will deliver in about 4
* Animals can have a miscarriage.
* If too hungry or low on fat animals can die when giving birth.
* Breeding female animals with conditions such as Champion will provide a chance that the offspring will also have that characteristic. This chance is dramatically increased when breeding two animals with the same condition together. (Two Champions for example.)
* Breeding two animals with the same trait greatly increases the chance that the offspring will have the trait.
* The name is determined at birth, the traits are determined at breeding (noticed on a server revert on 2011-03-01)

Traits
Bred animals have a chance of having traits.(Enhancement/Deformity). Animals can have multiple traits. Examining an animal will show traits, if one has the required skill level:

* 0 skill: Horse's color is considered a trait.
* 20 skill: "It will fight fiercely." (High fighting skill?)
* 21 skill: "It has fleeter movement than normal." (Minor speed boost)
* 22 skill: "It is a tough bugger." (Withstands more damage)
* 23 skill: "It has a strong body." (More health)
* 24 skill: "It has lightning movement." (Randomly increases speed for a short duration)
* 25 skill: "It can carry more than average." (Less penalty to speed due to high load)
* 26 skill: "It has very strong leg muscles." (Less penalty to speed due to slope? Does not currently do this.)
* 27 skill: "It has keen senses." (Increased agro range or possibly harder to tame?)
* 28 skill: "It has malformed hindlegs." (Minor speed penalty)*
* 29 skill: "The legs are of different length." (Major speed penalty)*
* 30 skill: "It seems overly aggressive." (Goes into frenzy when attacked)*
* 31 skill: "It looks very unmotivated." (Seldom uses speed boosts?)*
* 32 skill: "It is unusually strong willed." (Will drop lead or unhitch from a cart at random)*
* 33 skill: "It has some illness." (Usually unridable. Penalty to body strength)*
* 34 skill: "It looks constantly hungry." (is twice as fast hungry again)*
* 39 skill: "It looks feeble and unhealthy." (Prone to disease)*
* 40 skill: "It looks unusually strong and healthy." (Has a higher resistance to disease)
* 41 skill: "It has a certain spark in its eyes." (Affects breeding? <s>Will not die of old age?</s> Disproved, see talk.)
(All "?" are unconfirmed, traits with a * are removed by a Genesis cast)

Inbreeding
Inbreeding is has a negative effect. It adds extra negative traits that don't count against the regular traits pool.

Inbreeding is mating with the father or mother or when the two animals have the same father or mother. Basically if you only can find two horses you'll be ok in three generations. But it might be better to mate your horses with your neighbors horses.

Important to note
Players have observed that dead parents don't count towards the 'inbreeding' check:

"I have often used it as a method of breeding, to kill the old parents when I had too many horses that had a parent in common. After the parents are dead, you can breed and get normal horses. Leave the parents alive and you get lots of bad traited animals." Source

Caring
To prolong venerable animals from dying of old age you can care for them. To start caring stand next to the animal, right click the animal and select Care for. If you start caring for that animal you'll get the message:
You now care specially for Aged fat Tearbabe, to ensure longevity. You may care for 1 more creatures.

The amount of animals you can care for is limited by the animal husbandry skill of the player. If you can't care for more animals you'll get the message
You may not care for any more creatures right now. You are already caring for 1 creatures.

You can care for 1 animal and 1 extra animal for every 10 skill in animal husbandry. So at 40 Animal husbandry skill you can care for 5 animals.

Note: Non-premium players can only care for 1 animal.

To stop caring for all cared animals type the command /stopcaring in the chat window. You'll get the message
You no longer care for the one creature you used to.

To stop caring for a specific animal, you will need to right click the animal and 'care for' again.

Going to remove this from the notes section, as it appears to be outdated. I have data to back up that two wild horses will produce 4-5 trait babies quite frequently with 50+ AH.

[16:46:50] <Brashendeavors> if there is anyone with wiki editing priv, the animal husbandry trait "It has a certain spark in its eyes" if definitely unlocked at 41 AH

Player had just got 41 AH and confirmed on 2 animals minimum, first time that indicator had shown up.

"Venerable animals do not breed as true." (found in the notes section.)

My Venerable Ebencloud is still breeding like a champ. Unsure if he has the spark trait due to low skill, but doubtful because I suspect he was born before said trait was put into the game.

<Malaclypse>
I bred 2 venerable horses last night (all of my horses are now venerable). One of the pair was a plain "Venerable Fat Horse", so without any traits at all.
I have several horses with the spark trait, and they were born way before the changes and that trait was introduced, as I haven't bred much in a long time.

:The note was added quite recently when Rolf made venerable and young animals unbreedable. Later he allowed venerables to breed again but the wiki was not updated. --Ago 11:15, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Actually I added it after Gaeron mentioned that venerable animals do not breed as well, at least in passing traits. They still breed; however, its preferable with a younger animal. --Klaa 09:04, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

The result of my venerable's breeding above, father has 2 good traits, mother has none, both are white. Foal was white and had 2 or 3 good traits and one bad one, which seems maybe slightly better than average from my experience. --Malaclypse 21:34, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
Confirmed that animals with this trait will die of old age. I removed "cared for status" on a ven horse and she was dead the next morning. Long discussion in kchat (partially on my part to disseminate finding) showed that still nobody can report breeding a foal with this trait.

Mayrin: /* Traits */ Reworded "strong-willed" explanation for clarity.

* Breeding increases a player's soul depth.
* Longer blood lines will support more traits. (For example: A 4th generation dog can have up to 6 or so traits where a 1st generation dog (the first offspring from wild dogs) usually only have 0-3 traits.)

* 0 skill: Horse's color is considered a trait.

Inbreeding
With a recent change inbreeding is supposed to have a negative effect.

To stop caring for all cared animals type the command /stopcaring in the chat window. You'll get the message
You no longer care for the one creature you used to.

To stop caring for a specific animal, you will need to right click the animal and 'care for' again.
A wooden house (more accurately, a wooden building) is relatively easy and fast to build, it requires less skill and resources than a stone house, and offers basic protection from decay, theft, and invaders.
Notes
* When building a wall, window, or door, the quality of the materials and the player's skills affect the initial quality of the piece built.
Building
# Create a building plan for the future structure.
# Activate a mallet, right-click the wall plan, and select the desired wall type.
# With the mallet still activated, right-click the wall plan, and select "Continue building" until the wall, window, or door is finished.
* The initial action consumes one large nails and one plank; each subsequent action consumes one plank from the player's inventory.
* The nails and plank are consumed shortly after starting the action so do not move while building or the action will be aborted and the resource lost.
* A building plan with no walls will decay in a few real-life days so make sure to start at least one wall.

Inner walls
To plan inner walls activate a mallet or trowel, right-click a tile border inside the house and select Plan > Inner wall. On the wall plan select a wall type and continue as explained above.

Note: Only the owner of the house writ can add inner walls, and it requires 30 Carpentry skill to plan.
Repairing and improving
* Any damage must be repaired on the walls with a plank before improving it.
* Activate a plank, right-click the wall, and select "Repair" or "Improve".
* The effective quality of the plank is affected by its damage and the player's carpentry skill.
* Any quality plank can be used to repair and improve a wall (which will improve by between around .04-1.5+ QL per plank--more research needed but a higher QL plank will yield more improved QL).
# Hitching and notes sections have content that may not fit best in those categories.
# "Items can be stowed in large carts during construction...." This note is confusing. Since the items that can be built in carts seems to change with time, I think simple disclaimer is better.

* Total materials should stay because it's very handy to check the total required materials and mass producing them before even starting the first wheel. In general I think it's good to have sub component information on the page too without having to dig through the linked pages. Should the generic warnings (like building things inside carts) be moved to the cart page, and make it a category instead of a disambiguation page?

<s>The cart doesn't speed up downhill, but it doesn't slow down uphill either.</s>
With the latest changes to mounts, the cart doesn't speed up downhill, but it does slow down when going uphill now.

Terrain doesn't affect cart speed.

<s>At steep slopes (20?) the cart might not move. You have to move forward and double-strafe (hold your walk left and your walk right keys), to get up that hill but it's very slow.</s>
This has been fixed and it seems that the animals don't move over a tile that has a slope above 27? of any opposite corner (diagonal opposite counts, too). The exact conditions are to be discovered yet.
Description
A fairly large two wheel cart designed to be dragged by an animal.

Large carts now requires 20.10 mind logic to be commanded, but they can still be dragged at any skill level.

A large cart is a mobile container used to transport cargo or player. It has a larger capacity than its smaller counterpart small cart, it can be dragged by a player or led by up to two animals, and it can be locked with a large padlock. A large cart can have a commander and up to three additional passengers.

Subcomponents
* 2x small wheel
* 1x small wheel axle

Total Materials
* 7 shaft
* 22 planks
* 4 small nails
* 1 yoke

Large carts can be difficult to start and continue at very low fine carpentry skill, so it is a good idea to make a few extra parts.

Hitching
*To hitch an animal to a cart, lead it with rope, right-click the cart, and select "Hitch".
*To unhitch one of the animals, embark the cart as commander, right-click that animal and choose "Unhitch".
*To unhitch both animals from the cart, right-click the cart and select "Unhitch".

Hitching Notes
* The large cart needs to be at least 10 quality before animals can be hitched to it.
* Hitching any animal will allow you to move the maximum weight capacity of the cart slowly. A second animal only makes it faster.
* Brown bears are the fastest hitched animals yet discovered
* Carts do not gain a speed advantage from travelling downhill, but are slowed when going uphill as with mounted creatures.
* Animals cannot drag a cart over tiles that have a slope of 30 or higher at any edge; move back a little and go around it.
* All the usual animal traits and statuses like hurting will affect their cart-dragging speed.
* Driver stamina is drained while driving the cart. Running out of stamina has no effect on the speed.

Security
Upon finishing the large cart, the last person who had the unfinished cart in the inventory becomes the owner. However if it was finished in the inventory no owner is set and the Manage vehicle option is not available even to the player who finished the large cart. Ownership can be transferred by the owner to any other player in the vehicle management window.

The owner and any person with the Manage right can manage the usage permissions through a window available via the Manage vehicle menu option.

The permissions control drive (embarking as commander), mount (embarking as a passenger), accessing the inventory hold of the cart and managing the settings.
Each of these rights can be granted or denied to all friends, all villagers and everyone. The owner always has all permissions. The settings only take affect if the cart is locked, however.

The owner of the large cart can attach a large padlock to it to enable permissions. The lock can be removed by everyone in possession of the key, but only the owner can attach it again.

Another player can drag a locked cart regardless of what large padlock enabled management settings are used. Since server restarts unhitch animals, its possible another could drag your locked cart away. Two simple solutions are 1) to put heavy things in your cart or 2) store the cart in a secure area. As an example, if you were to put a small barrel in a cart and then a bunch of 100 kg unfinished charcoal piles in the barrel, it would make dragging more difficult. Furthermore, management option will prevent these others from accessing the inventory or using animals to drive the cart away.

On Freedom carts can not be lockpicked. Trying to do so will result in the following message: Stealing carts is punished with death penalty here. You decide not to.

Notes
* The quality of the cart affects its decay rate; there is no other bonuses from increasing the quality of carts.
* The volume of items will affect what fits in the cart. See the Container page for a item volume list.
* Although carts cannot be dragged in water tiles, they can be pushed. They can be dragged through tiles with 5 slope of water or less.
* 24.60 kg of dye is needed to paint a large cart.
* The maximum weight a player can drag in a large cart is determined by the formula: (Body Strength * 7 - carried weight) * 10 - 240.
*Items can be stowed in large carts during construction, but will drop out when too heavy and will encumber the cart during construction. If the item becomes too heavy to remove and too heavy to finish, the cart will be useless and the item cannot be removed. If boats are being made in it, then it is advisable to take the cart to the water before finishing the boat.

Useful capacity quantities
*7 rafts or finished support beams.
*18 felled trees
*59 slabs
