*Horseshoes are damaged with every step take damage while the horse takes while is mounted. Horseshoes are not damaged on horses being led.*Horseshoes made out of [[gold]], [[silver]], or [[electrum]] use [[Jewelry Smithingjewelry smithing]] skill to improve instead of [[Blacksmithingblacksmithing]] skill. Blacksmithing skill is still used to create them, and determines quality level at creation. *Horseshoes cannot be worn by horses still in the foal stage.
