Aah, the joys of so many plants by your house!
How!?
Its quite simple really: Activate your sprout (See Forestry), right click dirt (not grass or packed dirt) then go to Nature > Plant. Although success is not guaranteed, a higher quality of the sprout is believed to increase the chance of the sprout surviving.
Flowers can also be planted.
