After Mol Rehan forces the disbanding of the then HotS capital Ebony Veil, the Gates of Fire deed was planted at a pinch point which acted as a border control between the two kingdoms. The deed lasted for quite some time until it was deliberately disbanded and replaced with New Helms Deep which controls the area today.
