Since you cannot do many actions in NewTown it is best to start travelling away from NewTown. Choose a direction and start walking!

There are two ways of moving in Wurm - WASD and arrowkeys. Both are covered in the guide.
So now you've learnt how to walk the first thing you will want to find is wood. Try walking and find a tree. Once you've found one we are going to open your inventory. Press F3 to open the inventory window.
You will see a starter kit. This is all the items you start off with. double click your small axe. This will make it "active" (used to be called "arming"). Then right click on the tree and press Cut Down. You will have to right click and press Cut Down 3-5 times to completely cut it down.
