Birch trees are a relatively common species that have been held in high regard for quite some time as the ideal 'fuel tree'.

* Birchwood will [[fuel|burn]] longer than an equal weight of other wood; however, it cannot exceed the burn time cap so most time this bonus is wasted. * Birch does spread relatively quicker however, and may be an ideal substitute for [[pine]] if planted in larger numbers.* Overaged trees have a chance of producing [[Bark]] with a [[Awl]] activated, used in [[Fishing]]
