Local is an unmoderated channel for players within about 1 kilometer 320 meters (80 [[tile|tiles]]) radius from your position. The local channel is almost completely free speech, you may not use very offensive language, such as racist, sexist, and homophobic comments, nor may you talk about illegal drugs or warez. The people shown in your local chat are the players within about 1 kilometer radius from your position. Both Blacklighters and Whitelighters can talk here. It is possible for players to be within the 80 tile radius and not appear in the list of names if they are [[stealth|stealthed]] or inside of a mine.
