A '''crude wooden fence''' was added in 1.0, and is a normal [[wooden fence]] for all intents and purposes. It can be transformed into a full wooden fence by adding the other materials.
It uses the same materials, but has a finished look and is unpassable directly after planning the fence with a shaft. This might be useful for quickly fencing off a safe area.The crude wooden fence does not seem to stop (hostile) animals from passing, so you can finish the fences but it does prevent players from the inside of entering your property.
