Defensive fighting trains around 1.5times as fast as aggressive fighting but doesn't give as much to total fighting level as aggressive does. Because defensive fighting is the fastest type to train, it is also the best thing to train when you first start to train fighting.
The reason it is the best is because it increases the skills, needed for fighting, the fastest. Skills like: mind speed, mind logic, body control, and it even increases strength a little bit. Later you can always train other types of fighting as an extra.
