Description
Digging requires a is the skill of terraforming or moving Shoveldirtaround. Activate shovel ---> Right-click It is used either to raise or lower a tile (any but rock) and select Dig. This will lower or the ground and put 1x sides of a tile, to change the tile compound in your inventory. The ground is lowered at appearance of the closest corner to where world around you are standing. Digging requires a shovel and increases several characteristics: body strength, rather than where you clickbody stamina, and mind logic. Destroying pavement and cultivating a packed dirt tile also increases the digging skill.
So if you want to lower ==Method==*Activate a tile stand in the corner of the tile activate your shovel, and right -click>a tile and select "Dig this ". This will lower the corner you are standing on. To lower ground and drop the whole tile, you must stand dug material in each of the four corners in turn and dig. This is the same for raising a collectible pile on that tile, just drop dirt instead of digor nearby.
When *Note that the material is dug from the corners of tiles; Where your avatar's feet are (which of the four corners in the tile you think stand in) is where the tile will be dug down. Where you have right-click to select the dig command has absolutely no impact whatsoever on where you dig. So, for example, by standing in the northwestern corner of a tile nearly flat you can find out if it is perfectly flat by right clicking>flattenand digging, just that area of the tile and connecting tiles will drop. You The other three corners of the tile will remain at their original level. By then get hovering the message 'The ground cursor over neighboring tile borders, one can then see the results of their work via slope count (1 slope = 1 dirt = 1 dig action). Dropping dirt on tile corners works the same way but by raising the corner in which the player is flat here' in standing when dropping the event windowdirt.
NEW: You *The maximum slope you can see the difference dig on, level, or flatten is 3 x [your digging skill] + 1. e.g. A skill of 50.25 in height between one side and the other digging will mean you can dig on, or adjacent to, a slope of a tileup to 151 dirt.*For skills below 10, by using examine on the tile borderyou can dig slopes up to 30.
==Tools used==:* It is not possible to dig on Shovelcliffor rock tiles. Rock tiles can be mined down.
==Skills used==:* To lower a whole Diggingdirt (Showing skill/characteristics influence), moss, tundra, steppe, or sand tile, you must stand in each of the four corners and dig. To raise a tile, you must drop dirt on the tile corners. Clay tiles will lower every 50-100 actions while digging corners. When on tiles like peat or tar, digging produces material each dig, but will not lower the corner. You must use leveling for these tiles.
==Digging for rock==If you want to dig for *To check if a rock tile is flat, you must be aware that you probably have to dig can either right-click a lot of dirttile and select Flatten or examine the tile's borders. To start you must dig a reasonable distance above waterIf all tile borders say "The slope is level", keep digging then tile is flat. You can also see the difference in one corner till height between tile sides by examining the tile's borders. The reference will be a certain number of units of material either away from you "hit rock" or toward you do not have enough skill relative to dig deeperwhere you are standing. Once For example, if the slope is 2 dirt steep towards you hit rock in one corner you must then dig until you hit rock in , go to the other corners end of the tileborder you examined and dig twice to level the edge in question. When you hit rock To avoid confusion in all four corners the rock beginning when examining tile borders, stand near, or preferably on, the blank non-highlightable "mini-square" at the corner of a tile will be uncovered.
==Flattening Made EasyNotes==* You need 10 digging and 20 body strength to destroy pavement.* You need 20 body strength to dig on roads.* Trees will obstruct digging is when there is a tree in the NE, NW, and SW tiles. Cut down that tree and you can continue digging. * Digging holds a chance to reward you with strange bones & emeralds. Anybody, even non premium accounts have the chance of finding emeralds. Only premium accounts have the chance of finding rare bones.* Having a shovel activated will give a mouse tool indicating the slope of a tile border when you mouse over it.* Digging can be done while moving, so long as you do not move too far (two tiles) from the tile you are currently digging.
===Assumptions=PVP Servers==* Maximum slope on dirt is limited to 150 on the Defiance and Elevation servers, no matter how high the skill a player may have.

===Actions=Burying==
# Pick Activate a single corner as you reference (place a small barrel or some container on itshovel, so you know the reference corner).
# Rightright-click on a tile border that ajoins the reference point corpse and see which end of the tile border needs to be dug,
#* If the reference corner is the highest, then drop the required dirt at the lowest end.#* If the reference corner is the lowest, then dig the required amount from the highest end.# Repeat until area is flatselect Bury.
==Technical Data about Flattening==*Note: a crude shovel does not provide the bury action.
The times given when Burying is generally designed for the disposal of a corpse. An unbutchered corpse will attract carnivores so therefore it is a respectful act to bury an animal after you start kill it. It is a good idea to flatten correspond butcher the animal with a butchering knife before it is buried. Also, remember to the number of dirt 'difference' these are :bury your own corpse after you pick up its inventory.
*0 = If you try to bury something on a rock tile, cave tile, or a dirt tile where the dirt is less than 3 dirts deep you will fail and get the message, "The ground is flat nowtoo hard to bury anything in using a shovel, try using a pickaxe."*1..3 = 9 secs*4..7 = 19 secs*8..11 = 29 secs*12..15 = 39 secs*16.However, it is possible to bury corpses on a rock tile and or a cave tile with a pickaxe.19 = 49 secs*etc
So the time is the "number of ==Under water==Until 7 dirt difference" / 4below sea level, rounded downyou can dig as above water, * 10 + 9but deeper than 7 you must dredge instead of dig.
The ==Digging for Rock Guide==To set up a mine where there is no exposed rock, you must first reveal the rock layer under the dirt layer. Dig at a reasonable distance above water. Keep digging in one corner until "You hit rock" or do not have enough skill to continue digging. Once you hit rock in one corner, then you must dig in all other corners until they have hit rock also. When you hit rock in all four corners, then the rock tile will be uncovered. If you lack the skill to dig in "number of dirt differencesuch steep slopes" is , you could dig the nearby tiles down further as well, to reduce the difference between slope to the highest and lowest pointscorners you are working on.
So a 9 secs timer could be ==Tile Difficulties==Digging difficulty varies by tile. The formula starts at 1 + (the highest slope from tiles like this..that corner/5, rounded down), then adds the specific tile difficulty.

0--* Dirt -1 or 0* Peat ---3 or 0* Sand -10* Moss -10* Clay -0 20| | | | | |* Tundra - 201* Marsh -30* Tar -35* Steppe -2 3---3 0---3
40
If At the end of the timer, the tile is in the 1-3 dirt difference range, and the following happens :==Skills & Characteristics==* Digging* Body > Body strength* Mind > Mind logic* Body > Body stamina (On PVE servers only)* Soul > Soul strength (On Epic servers only)
