*Sharp edged weapon skills ([[small axe]], [[large axe]], [[huge axe]], [[long sword]] and [[two handed sword]] can be grinded to max 20 chopping down trees. Woodcutting skill will be gained in the process.
*Another option (but more complicated and dangerous due to monsters and the possibility of upsetting residents) is: Go to an area that is not populated, or areas infested with unwanted tree types (i.e. fruit trees), and ask any locals before cutting down the trees; this helps to avoid angering people and the sharp pointy things they will stick into you ([[Wild]] servers).
*An additional option is to take a [[log]], split it into 6 [[plank]]s with a [[saw]], then take each plank and turn it into 8 [[wood shingle]]s with the saw. The planks grant [[Carpentry]] experience and the shingles grant [[Woodcutting]]. From a single 24 kg log you end up making 48 Woodcutting xp granting items.
