An '''iron ribbon''' is primarily used to make [[fine carpentry items]] like [[large barrel]]s, [[large chest]]s and , [[huge tub]]s or , and [[crow's nest]]. It's also used for [[carpentry items]] like [[storage bin|storage bins]]s, but are also used in and [[support beam]]s and [[crows nest|support beams]].

An iron ribbon is a component never used for [[improving]] anything. As such, so it is a common practice to mostly use the low lower [[quality]] iron resulting from re-smelting [[iron scrap]]s or from poor quality [[iron ore]]to create. The finished item that the ribbon was used for can always be improved later on. (The same practice is commonly used when making [[nails]].)

However, it may be wise to have at least a few of == Other ribbons of higher quality available, as some items require them in the first phase of construction, and thus will be lost if ==[[failing]]. A higher quality Brass ribbon will give a better chances of success when creating an item, whereas continuing an [[unfinished item]] will only [[damage]] the ribbon slightly if failing.
