== Description ==
Axe Mountain is a Size 5 village on the highest ridge of Axe Mountain. We are less than a minute's walk from the peak of the mountain, and 14 tiles from an amazing viewing platform that overlooks the Southern half of the Home server. We are approximately a 50 minute walk/climb from [[Newtown]], although this time should go down upon completion of the road from Rockcliff to the village.
== History ==
Axe Mountain was originally an outpost project of [[Infinity]]. [[User:Hrundi|Hrundi]], a member of Infinity, had built a ladder from [[Rockcliff]] to the peak of the mountain, with eventual plans to settle the mountain as an Infinity outpost. Soon, other Infinity members, such as [[User:Maroonhawk|Maroonhawk]], [[User:Stetson|Stetson]], and [[User:Razaekel|Razaekel]], moved onto the mountain and began the settlement efforts.
Over time, the settlement's goal shifted from that of an Infinity outpost to that of an independent village. Work was slow but steady, with the Base Camp being established on a tundra area halfway up the mountain before the work on the village began. A suitable village spot was soon found on the mountain's highest ridge, which also houses the mountain's peak. Work began on levelling and terraforming the village site. Over time, new members came to assist in the building effort, and visitors started making the climb to see the view from the top.
