A ship is used to sail the seven seas.Main / Vehicles / PAGENAME
Ships are made using ship building, usually started by combining two keel sections.
Most ships require some Mind logic to command:== Description ==
A floating, wooden vessel - outfitted with an array of nautical materials and mechanisms to make it controllable. A ship is used to sail the seven seas.

*Without an attached boat lock that is appropriately set with permissions, anyone can use a ship. If the ship is not moored it can also be pushed away. It is therefore highly recommended that players lock AND moor their ships for ultimate security.
*The owner and any person with the Manage right can manage the overall usage permissions through the Manage vehicle menu option. The permissions window is available only if the ship is locked, however. These permissions control drive (embarking as commander), mount (embarking as a passenger), accessing the inventory hold of the ship, "dragging" the ship, and managing the item. Each of these rights can be granted or denied to any individual player. All rights, except "manage item", can also be assigned by group, such as "citizens", "alliance" or "everyone". The player listed as the current owner will always have all permissions.
*To secure a ship from being pushed away, it can be moored by right clicking the ship and using "moor" with a mooring anchor inside the ships inventory.
*A ship can be moored by the commander or passengers, but only the commander can raise the anchor.
*On Freedom, ships cannot be lockpicked (except by owner). Attempts will result in the message Stealing boats is punished with the death penalty here. You decide not to.
Note: The small raft floats, but cannot be boarded, so does not even count as a boat.== Creation ==
== Security ==*Ships are made using ship building, started by combining two keel sections.*The person to attach the last piece to an unfinished ship becomes the owner and original signed maker when it is finished. Ownership can then be transferred by the owner, to a new owner, through the vehicle management window.*When a ship is created, a default 1 ql lock is automatically attached to the ship, the ship is locked, and permissions are enabled. The owner of the ship can change the boat lock which may be necessary for security on PvP servers. The lock can only be removed and reattached by the owner on PvE servers.
Without an attached == General Sailing, Operation == *Most ships require some Mind logic anyone can use the shipto operate. If the ship is not See mooredVessel Details for more information on this.*Ships with a quality of less than 10 cannot be commanded. This includes ships whose damage percentage would calculate to bring the quality below 10 (eg. a 12 quality ship with 17 damage calculates to a ship below 10 quality).*The achievable speed of a ship at any one time is determined by 5 factors: the quality of the ship, the type of ship it can be dragged or pushed awayis, the number of crew (players) aboard the ship, weather/wind factors, and any runes mounted on the ship. The exact weight given and formula attributed to each of these speed-deciding factors need further confirmation by staff.
Upon finishing ==Server-Crossing Mechanics ==*On Freedom servers, you need permission to command the ship boat, set individually for you, to sail to another server (anyone can cross as passengers). On Epic servers, you can cross servers as friend too - the last person who had ownership transfers to the unfinished ship in commander then.*When crossing servers from one map to another, the inventory becomes lettered/numbered grid always aligns from one map to the ownernext. Dragging For example, if a player crosses a border east/west at the cart or ship M-letter of the unfinished ship grid, they will end up on the same M-letter gridline on the next map. * The server arrangement map found at https://www.dropbox.com/s/49ny4u0v6lstgwo/freedom.png?dl=0 was originally intended for use with the game before course-plotting was a sailing feature. This means that now, it is built only representative of the geographic layout one might expect if sailing across a border without plotting course. By plotting a course, the arrangements on this map become irrelevant as the game directly "wormholes" the vessel to the destination map of choice in does not reliably set the ownershipplotting panel. Ownership can Furthermore, when crossing using the plot feature, the destination map will always align with what would be transferred by assumed correct geographically: sailing south from one map, once across the owner in server line, puts the player sailing toward the north shore of the vehicle management windowtarget map, etc, etc.
The owner == Warning Messages ==* Crossing too near to a map corner can cause game issues and is advised against. If you are too close to a corner, you may get this message: *If you are approaching a server border without a destination set, you will see this message: . *If you are too close to a server border without a destination set, you will see this message: .
The permissions control drive (embarking == Additional Notes ==* Plotting a course is possible only when aboard a ship as the commander), mount (embarking as .*Ships can be transported over land using a passenger), accessing the inventory hold of the ship and managing the settingstransporter. Each of these rights can *The small raft is not considered a functional ship, as it floats but cannot be granted boarded or denied commanded.*It is possible to all friends, all villagers disembark directly onto dry land from a ship by right-clicking a nearby tile of dry land and selecting everyonedisembark. The owner always has all permissions. The settings only take affect if the ship is locked however.*Ships cannot be hauled up ladders
The owner of the ship can attach a boat lock to it to enable permissions. The lock can be removed by everyone in posession of the key but only the owner can attach it again. To secure a ship from drifting or being dragged or pushed away it's important to moor it with a mooring anchor. A ship can be moored by the commander and any passenger but only the commander can raise the anchor. On Freedom ships can not be lockpicked. Trying so will result in the message Stealing boats is punished with death penalty here. You decide not to. == Notes ==*If you are building a ship larger than a small sailing boat inside a cart, it will become too heavy to drag. Make sure to move the cart next to water before it gets too heavy. See small cart to find out how much you can drag.*The last person to pick up and drop an unfinished ship becomes the owner when it is finished. Dragging the container it is in is not sufficient.*Currently there are no beneficial results from improving the quality of a ship.*Ships with a quality of less than 10 cannot be commanded. ==Vessel DetailsChart==<div style="overflow-x: auto">{| border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="10" style="text-align:center;" class="wikitable sortable"!scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="text" |Vessel |!scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" | Mind Logic |!scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" | Total Occupants* [[#Note_1|[1]]] !scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" | Maximum Solo Speed (km/h) !scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" |Maximum speed (full crew) !scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" | Hold Capacity Commander Propulsion (Kgapprox. km/h) [[#Note_2|[2]]] !scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" | Hold Capacity (Volume) [[#Note_3|[3]]] !scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" | Hold Capacity (Rafts) !scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" |Hold Capacity (Sm Crates) !scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" | Footprint Hold Capacity (Lg Crates) !scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" |Size [[#Note_4|[4]]] !scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" | Height** [[#Note_5|[5]]] !scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" | Draft [[#Note_6|[6]]] !scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" | Minimum Passable Depth** !scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" |Creature Cage Capacity!scope="col" width="100" data-sort-type="number" | Weight (Kg)|-| Crude canoe || 19.5(?) || 2 || ? || || 7.2 || 0 || 0 || 0 || 0 || 1x1x1 || 3 Dirt || 5 Dirt || 5 || 0 || 120
