Certain items carry the signature of their creator if the item is of at least 20 QL. Higher QL gives a clearer signature. It appears as though an additional letter is shown for each 10 QL. Unclear signatures have some letters of the name replaced by a dot. For example, Notch could be .o..h.
Pattern
The letters of the signature that appears are based on the length of the maker's name and the quality of the item. All names of the same length have letters appear in the same positions for the same quality range.
