I had an oak at Newtown where I'd regularly plant trees all near it, including directly adjacent. When I returned from a long absence, only the trees directly adjacent were gone. The ones two tiles away were always alive and intact. A similar experiment with willows resulted in everything within two tiles being wiped out. What observations have you made that conflict with this? - [[User:Dashiva|Dashiva]] 00:55, 23 February 2009 (CST)

- Dashiva 00:55, 23 February 2009 (CST)

On the streets of Silent Hill I have planted oaks on grass tiles in groups, as shown on the images on the village page Silent Hill|here.
There is a certain pair of grass tiles that I cannot grow trees whatsoever on. It's outside the assumed kill-radius of the surrounding oaks, so I have no other explanation other than that the current assumed radius is incorrect. - EliasTheCrimson 02:22, 23 February 2009 (CST)
Does it happen in all directions? My oak left trees intact to the north and east, but didn't have any to kill south and west. Perhaps there's a corner issue or something similar that makes the kill area non-centered. - Dashiva 08:43, 23 February 2009 (CST)
I can confirm your results Dashiva, my oak trees only seem to kill trees within 1 tile of themselves, not 2. --Telarin 20:48, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
