Transmutation of a sand tile into clay requires the amount of the fluid, in liters, calculated by dividing 3500 by fluid's quality, e.g. 70 liters at 50 QL.

Quoting a post from Pandalet, Assistant Lead Forum Moderator. on the Wurm Forum, http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/144066-wtb-transmutation-liquid-tile-clay/&do=findComment&comment=1479613

How much you need depends heavily on the quality of the liquid. At 20 QL, off deed, you'd need about 250kg of liquid per tile; on deed would be around 170kg. At 50 QL, you're looking at about 100kg/67kg. The QL of the liquid depends on the QL of the ingredients (beverages and mining skills, plus the QL of the base fruit) plus the Natural Substances skill to mix them.

A later poster, Joeix, agreed, saying

As Pandalet said, about 100-150kg of QL 50 liquid is needed.
