Introduction
This is usually the first question new players come to ask on the Jenn Kellon kingdom chat.
And the answer is, its quite easy - if you have the resources, this guide will provide ALL
here too.
----To plan and build a house, you'll need a flat piece of ground, a mallet, and for each wall 20 planks and a large nail. You'll also need some Carpentry skill dependant on how big The Guide:your house will be. If you are in a village, you might want to ask for the Small nails, mallet and someone with high carpentry skill to plan your house.
Flattening the ground
Well first of all you need a place to build your house, the ground need to be flat if you
wish to build a house on it so firstly "activate" your shovel Shovel by double clicking on it andright click on the ground, select flatten and you will do just that. Note that flattening affectsthe tiles adjacent to the tile you flatten.
Now that you have your flat ground you will need a mallet or hammer to plan your house, to== Woodcutting == create a For the planks and [[mallet ] you 'll need to get some lumber, - this is easy - activate your axe and go to thenearest tree. It's a good idea to right click the tree and "examine" it before you decideto chop it down, only very old trees will provide a good amount of lumber. When you have founda tree that you are happy with simply right click it while your axe is activated and choose"cut down". You will need to do this multiple times before the tree is felled. Once it doesfall you will see a felled tree on the ground (or just a log if the weight of the tree wasbelow or exactly 25kg). Next you will need to cut up your felled tree in smaller pieces andthus create logs, right . Right click on the felled tree while you have your axe activated and select"chop up", now pick up the log and we will go on to plankingand creating the mallet.
Creating planks
Planking is just as simple as any other action in wurm, which is lucky since you will need
alot of planks to build your house, 20 for every wall actually. To make planks you activate
log cutting and plankmaking to create the amount of planks you need for the amount of walls you have.
Next up is iron, this is == Creating the mallet == If you fail in any of the hardest part. To find iron activate your pickaxe, rigth click on following steps and create a tile that says "rock" and choose "prospect" from woodscrap instead of the "mining" submenmuitem, finding iron is very difficult just start over and you may have to search through hundreds of rock tiles before you manage to find an iron mine - its basicly complete lucktry again. Well, well, when you have found Equip your precious iron mine its time to start mining it to get to the oreCarving knife, right click the "mine" options is also found Log in the "mining" submenuyour inventory and select Create/Weapons/Shaft. Each mining action will deliver 20kg oreDo this twice. Now you want to get to Then right click one of the iron inside the rock of these ores so you will have to smelt them, you do this by getting yourself another of those fancy logs Shaft in your inventory and with your axe "create" a kindling from it, once you have this little nifty piece of wood you select your steel Create/Miscellanious/Mallet Head. Equip the mallet head and flint, right -click on the kindling shaft, and create select Create/Tools/Mallet. If all succeeded, you now have either a campfire with it (its under the container submenu)mallet or an unfinished mallet. Now that If you have your campfire its time to get smelting! Rightclick on your campfire and "open" itan unfinished one, drag the ore from your inventory to the campfires inventory. Next theres waiting - lots of it. I suggest you mine more ore while you do this but of course if you want to idle you can do that too. Right click on the ore and try finishing it (examine it to check how hot see what it is, once it reaches "glowing hot" you are very close to get your iron lumpneeds) or create a new one. When the ore has smelted it is replaced by There's a 1kg iron lump in the campfire, 20% chance that you will need atleast 2kg for the next step'll create a finished one.
The == Iron ==Next up is iron anvil , this is the hardest part. To find iron activate your pickaxe, right click on a crucial tool in wurm tile that says "rock" and this choose "prospect" from the "mining" submenmu, finding iron is what very difficult and you may have to search through hundreds of rock tiles before you will create nowmanage to find an iron mine - its basicly complete luck. Well, when you have found your precious iron mine its time to start mining it to get your 2 lumps from to the campfireore, (they the "mine" options is also found in the "mining" submenu. Each mining action will deliver 20kg ore. Now you want to get to the iron inside the rock of these ores so you will have to be glowing hot for smelt them, you do this to work) by getting yourself another of those fancy logs and activate one with your axe "create" a kindling from it, once you have this little nifty piece of themwood you select your steel and flint, rightclick right click on the other kindling and choose combinecreate a campfire with it (its under the container submenu). Now activate mallet that you made earlier have your campfire its time to get smelting! Rightclick on your campfire and right click on "open" it, drag the ore from your inventory to the 2kg lump, again choose create and pick iron anvilcampfires inventory. Next theres waiting - lots of it. If I suggest you are extremly lucky mine more ore while you will pull do this off at but of course if you want to idle you can do that too. Right click on the first tryore and examine it to check how hot it is, if once it reaches "glowing hot" you dont put are very close to get your iron scraps in lump. When the fire and let them smelt again so they can become lumps once more (this take a shitload of time though so rather mine you some more ore and smelt has smelted it up). Repeat till is replaced by a 1kg iron lump in the campfire, you have your anvilwill need atleast 2kg for the next step.
Nails! This == Iron Anvil ==The iron anvil is a crucial tool in wurm and this is what you need to keep will create now, get your house together2 lumps from the campfire, large iron nails. Pick up a lump (they have to be glowing hot for this to work) and activate one of atleast 0them, rightclick on the other and choose combine.3kg Now activate mallet you made earlier and activate it, right click on your anvil the 2kg lump, again choose create and create, tools, large pick iron nailsanvil. When If you are extremly lucky you succeed with will pull this off at the first try, if you will get dont put your iron scraps in the fire and let them smelt again so they can become lumps once more (this take a handful shitload of large iron nails, time though so rather mine you some more ore and smelt it up). Repeat till you'll need one of these handfuls per wall of have your houseanvil.
== Nails == Nails! This is what you need to keep your house together, large iron nails. Pick up a lump of atleast 0.3kg and activate it, right click on your anvil and create, tools, large iron nails. When you succeed with this you will get a handful of Large nails, you'll need one of these handfuls per wall of your house. == Planning the house ==For every tile your house will occupy, you'll need 1 Carpentry skill. Also, for every wall you'll have you'll need 1 carpentry skill. So if you want to build a 1x1 house (the smallest house possible), you'll need 5 carpentry (4 walls, and 1 tile). To plan the house, go to your flattened piece of land, activate your mallet and right-click a tile, and select 'Plan building'. You can planadditional (adjacent) tiles in the same way. When you're satisfied with your building shape, right click on it and select 'Finalize building'.  == Building the house ==Finally we can start to actually build the house. activate Activate your mallet and make sure you have atleast one handfull of large nails and a plank in your inventory, right click on a side of your house and select build, pick door, wall or window after your choice (remember that you need a door to be able to enter the house though) repeat this on all the walls. next you will have to pick up
more planks and continue to build, 19 more times on every wall to be exact since they all need 20 planks total.
When this is done so is your house, w00t!
