*Right-click the person, merchant or trader you want to trade with, and choose '''Trade'''. A Trading window appears.
===Buying from a Traderor Personal Merchant===*[[Trader]]s sell a set selection of items from the game itself. Personal merchants are stocked with items from players. *Trader/Merchants's inventory is shown in '<Trader>'s offer' window top left. Drag items you want to the 'Your demand' window below it.
*Drag money or selling items from your inventory into the 'Your offer' window top right.
*Check 'You accept'.
If you offered a suitable amount, Trader /Merchant will accept also. If you offered more than the value of the items you bought, Trader will give change money back if he has enough to offer===Selling to a Trader===*Drag selling items from your own inventory into the 'Your offer' window top right.If Trader is interested in your items and has enough money to buy them, he will move them down to his demand window below it and accept the trade on his part.If Trader does not have enough cash, try buying something from him also, until your demands meet.*Check 'You accept'. =====Tips=====When trading it is a good idea to sell items over 1 by 1 as it gives more money. Or in large number drag higher value items over 1 by 1 and lower value items over i groups. Example 60 Spindles at mixed QL is currently 9s67s when dragged over in 1 go but dragging it over 10 at a time its 11s20c.<br>Always carry some iron to balance out the trade.<br>
===Trading items with another player===
In a game that is so focused on trades, a lot of markets currently exist. Here is a list of different groups and types of items that players frequently trade with, and that have established their own, obviously varying, price range.
*Character Sales - You may buy and sell ingame characters.
*Bulk Materials - A lot of materials such as bricks, mortar, planks and more are being produced in bulk and sold per hundred or thousand.
*Rare/Supreme Items - Many players crave tools, weapons, decoration or other items of increased rarity.
===Real Life Currency===
As of March 1st 2020, Wurm no longer allows you to pay or be paid trade with real life money for ingame services or items. While this is a concept many players enjoy about the game, there is no way for the game to track payment made by other means. Wurm can not refund you money you sent to another player for certain goods that may never have arrived if you are victim of a scam. That means that trading via real life money is a good way, but it is completely your responsibility to make sure you are as safe as possible as you trade. Again, it is usual for the buyer to pay before receiving the items. In case of a character or silver purchase, there are few ways for the player to determine whether the goods he is buying really exist. A good way is to ask for screenshots if you can not inspect the items, to be sure said items exist. After that, it is on the seller to make sure the buyer receives the items they purchased. The most popular way of payment is via PayPal. It is recommended to do real life money trades only with people who have a verified paypal accountcurrency.
