Plan and completely build the walls before adding a roof. Roofs are planned by activating a [[mallet]] and right-clicking the tiles on the ground beneath you. Each tile needs to be planned, then built with the required materials.

Each tile needs to be plannedand built with the necessary materials. Alternately, you can pave the floors on your ground/first floor, using the paving skill. This will result in snow indoors during the winter months (this has no effect on play, but you may or may not like the look.)
