'''Brown bear''' is a dangerous [[animal]] to new players, but less so than its cousin [[black bear]]. It can be killed by a well-equipped player without much [[fighting]] skill. Do not try to run away from it into the water, because this bear can swim. It can be [[taming|tamed]] with meat or fish (15+ taming skill recommended). Since brown bears can swim, one in the water is sometimes referred to as a Bearshark.
==Notes==
* Brown bears are the fastest hitched animals yet discovered. However, yet as they can only be hitched if young or adolexwhile tamed, they will unhitch themselves when they become aggressive/untamed again.
* Only young and adolescent brown bears can be hitched. Mature and above results in the message "The (age) Brown Bear is too unruly to be hitched"
