Animals do die of age, see patchnote 050907b. If they no longer do, report it in bugzilla, as the purpose of the aging system is to get rid of any animals that are stuck/unreachable.

Animals dying of age was very noticeable on several occasions when their live-time was shortened. --Manny 17:28, 10 October 2007 (CDT)

Certain animals like boars and poultry die reguarily as part of population control, this is true. However, other animals seem to live forever. As one example, Azzu had a pet spider for over six months in gold-1. I have reworded the article as a middle ground. - Dashiva 20:12, 10 October 2007 (CDT)

I was always under the impression that animals that are older hit harder than young animals. I have noticed this with many animals. fr example, Young crocodiles deal about 30 damage through chain, old crocs deal about 50 damage through chain. ~Madt

Manny: Does animal age effect their fighting capabilities?
Rolf: No =(

Age effecting fighting strength was added in the new system, so re-adding it to the page --Manny 03:48, 24 November 2007 (CST)

Disambiguation page would be nice for animals and trees. Maybe we could even add to the fighting capabilities of older animals. -Mojo 13:58, 1 April 2009 (CDT)
