Improving it requires the standard [[jewelry smithing]] or [[blacksmithing]] tools, only exception is you don't have to have the altar glowing, as there is no way you can put it in a fire, or forge.
Creating a Silver Altar option comes after you get 10 in jewelry smithing with QL 7 anvil
Silver altars need to have the [[bless]] spell cast on it to set it to a specified deity. Note that only a [[priest/priestess]] can cast spells. Stone and wooden altars do not have this requirement.
