== Usage ==
* The pickaxe is used primarily for [[mining]], [[prospect|prospecting]], and [[analyse]].
* The mouse tooltip will show the slope of cave floors while [[active]] and with at least 15 [[mining]] skill. This information can still be found by examining the cave floor/edge without a pickaxe active.
* Used to remove reinforcement of [[Support beams]].
* It is rather effective as a [[weapon]] compared to other tools in the absence of a real weapon.

== Notes ==
* There is no penalty for failure in creation of an iron pickaxe.
* Note that there are 3 versions of the pickaxe:
:- A normal version which can be improved. It can be made from any [[Metal_lumps|metal type]].
:- A wooden starter pickaxe which cannot be [[improve]]d but does [[nodrop|not drop]] upon [[death]].
:- A [[crude pickaxe]] which can be created with a pickaxe head [[Pickaxe head (stone)|made of stone]].
