:* <font color=green>Green</font> - [[Copper lump]] (minimum .8 kg) - 1kg of water per 1kg of [[copper lump]]. Produces 1kg of dye per copper lump.
:* <font color=red>Red</font> - [[Cave bug]] or [[scorpion]] [[cochineal]]- at 1kg of water per [[cochineal]]. Produces 1kg of dye per cochineal.
:* <span style=background-color:grey;color:white>White</span> - [[Zinc lump]]- 1kg of water per 1kg of [[zinc lump]]. Larger amounts of water and zinc produce larger amounts of dye.(NOTE: White only works on lamps to change the color from a yellow to a bright white even at lower quality dye.)

==Removal==
On most items with only one dyeable area, dye is removed by using a [[metal brush]] on it.
* [[Lye]] is used to remove dye from cloth or , leather, and [[drake hide armour]].
* If the item has dual dyeable areas:
** Dye on the wooden area is removed by using a [[metal brush]] on it.
