A '''saw''' is a metal [[tool]] used for [[woodcutting]] and [[carpentry]] tasks. It is commonly used to create [[plank]]s from [[log]]s, [[kindling]] from [[wood scrap]], chop down [[tree]]s, and cut [[felled tree]]s into logs.

== Notes ==
* The saw given with the starter set cannot be improved.
* Unlike most other starter tools, the starter saw is not made of birchwood, so it will not be destroyed by fire.
* The saw and [[hatchet]] are the only tools that give tool skill above 20 when cutting down trees.
* Other tool and weapon skills cannot be improved this way beyond 20; after that, using them for cutting wood only gives [[woodcutting]] skill.
