Description
A natural fence made from planting Hedges are planted on tile borders using 5 sproutsof the same type per border. All but the lowest hedge sizes block movementAs hedges grow, they will appear taller ranging from low, medium, and peak.
It appears that different hedges will grow to different possible heights. == Different Hedge Materials Types ==Types of hedge are<gallery>Image: Camellia, Cedar, Lavender, Maple, Oleander, Rose, Thorn.hedge Types that are not available areImage: Apple, Birch, Blueberry, Cherry, Chestnut, Fir, Grape, Hazelnut, Lemon, Linden, Oak, Olive, Orange, Pine, Raspberry, Walnut, WillowCamellia_hedge== Creating ==A total of 5 sprouts of the same type are needed to plant a png | Camellia hedge. Unlike actual fences, there is no skill requirement based on the tile border's slope. Hedges can't be planted on crop tile borders or packed dirt tile bordersImage:Oleander_hedge.jpg | Oleander hedge You need to have at least 5 sprouts of the same kind in your inventoryImage: Thorn hedge.jpg | Thorn hedge Note that failure is possible - Sadly, the sprout does not survive despite your best efforts. You lose one sprout if you failImage: Rose hedge.jpg | Rose hedge  == Destroying ==* Can be cut down like a tree with an activated hatchet, Right-click - Cut downImage:high_maple_hedge.jpg | Maple hedge* Can also be destroyed just as any other fence using a bashing tool. Catapults can also work on themImage:lavender_plantation. jpg | Lavender plantations** Body strength of 21 is required. ** Pruning hedge to medium or low length before bashing increase the damage tremendously.</gallery>
== Growing Planting==* The types of sprouts that can be used to create hedges are: Camellia, Cedar, Lavender, Maple, Oleander, Wild growthRose advances a hedge 1 growth-stage (makes low medium, and medium high, if the hedge type grows that tall). Prune with a sickleThorn (or other bladed tools) to make them 1 growth shorter. (On deed * Hedges are planted on tile borders using 5 sprouts of the manage option 'can cut old trees' must be enabled)same type per borderA sickle * Hedges can also only be used to destroy a low hedge. == Height ==All hedges start planted on borders where at low heightleast one of the bordering tiles is dirt, steppe, which does not impede movement. They will then grow to medium height upon which they become impassable or grass (including trees and eventually reach peak height (tall as a house wallbushes). The two exceptions to this are: ** LavenderCrops hedges stay at the lowest height and therefore remain passablepacked dirt do not count as dirt.* * The tile type can be changed after planting without destroying the hedge (unless both tiles become Camelliarock hedges stop growing upon reaching medium height, which permits seeing over ).* Hedges cannot be planted on the hedge while blocking movementsame border as an arched wall of any type.* Hedges don't have slope limitations for creating, unlike fences.Hedges can be temporarily trimmed shorter by pruning but * Failure to plant will regrow againdestroy one sprout.
Growth
* Newly planted hedges are 'low' and wont block movement until reaching a height of 'medium', or line of sight until 'high'.
* The spell Wild Growth will progress a hedge one stage towards its peak height.
* Hedges can be pruned one stage shorter per pruning action using a sickle (to a minimum of 'low'), but will eventually re-grow unless destroyed.
* Hedges do not shrivel with age.
* Lavender hedges stay at the lowest height and therefore remain passable.
* Camellia hedges stop growing upon reaching medium height, blocking movement but allowing line of sight.
* Hedges do not blossom with seasonal produce nor do they produce sprouts.

Trivia
As a priest can't attach parts, this is the only fence type they can build.
These cannot be built on the border of an Arched Wall.
Hedges can be dyed, takes 1.0kg of dye per hedge.
