They are primarily used for making [[shaft]]s or [[plank]]s, some [[ship building]] item, some [[carpentry]] items, [[:category:street lamps|street lamp]] poles or just burned as [[fuel]].
You can now right-click logs and select 'Discard' to get rid of them immediately.
