Animal breeding allows the production of new creatures without waiting for spawns. It can also breed better horses

Tame male or female animal (only needs to be tamed if that is only way the animal can be lead with a rope ex. pigs and cows do not need to be tamed)
Feed animal if necessary
Lead it with a rope to another animal of the same type and opposite sex.
Feed second animal if necessary.
Right click second animal select breed.

If unsuccessful at breeding, you can try again after 45 minutes.
Failure breeding results in interruption during intercourse.
Animals have to be fed until they are not interested in food any more to get them in the mood.
Age not a factor in breeding.
Animals do not have to be "fat" to breed.
Increases depth
Time to birth varies current numbers range from 5 - 11 species doesn't appear to matter. 0 is counted as a number
Time appears to be wurm weeks currently
