Description
The realm of the Golden Valley is an interesting one, lying but an arm's reach from the main realm of Wurm. All new souls entering the Wurm universe will appear within this tiny landscape.
The server is the starting point for all free to play characters (see basic account). They go through a tutorial, and can then teleport to Freedom for free, or pay to go to Freedom or Wild as a premium player.
Once you step through one of the many portals inhabiting this realm, beware - for you are unable to return. The decision to leave Golden Valley for greater adventure and opportunity is permanent.
The Outer Golden Valley
Players used to be able to stay in Golden Valley, even after finishing the missions by the guides.
Those old pioneers are perfectly free to explore or colonize the land as they choose. However, go with a friend, as the realm contains perils far greater than the mere search for food and water...
Compared to the true realm, the Golden Valley is astonishingly small - a mere sixteenth of the size of other continents in the Wurm universe. Tree and crop growth is faster, but unfortunately, so is the decay.
Due to a mysterious pacifying force, PvP combat is disabled on this server. This force is rumoured to weaken the animal inhabitants of this realm.
There are portals to the other servers in the former starter town New Dawn, Glitterdale, and First Light. It is a one-way trip. Maximum amount of items you can carry through the portals is 200. You cannot take animals or finished carts or boats with you.
Limitations
- Skills are limited to 20, even after having paid for premium
- Traders do not sell deeds or personal merchant contacts
- Players cannot go unfaithful or unlawful
- Guard towers cannot be completed.
