Used to transport cargo, like masses of dirt, rocks and ore. Other things fit in too.

Equip a Plank from your Inventory, then right click on Small Wheel Axle and select - Create/?/Small Cart.

Note: If you fail you lose your Plank and your Small Wheel Axle is damaged.

Equip a Plank, then right click on the Unfinished Small Cart and select Continue Building. Repeat 5 times.
Equip a Small Nails, then right click on the Unfinished Small Cart and select Continue Building. Repeat 2 times.
Equip a Shaft, then right click on the Unfinished Small Cart and select Continue Building. Repeat 2 times.

QL of the cart only affects the decay rate of the cart
The bulk of an item mostly affects how many fit into it. Carts with high weight need a high strength to drag.
Although carts cannot be dragged in water tiles, you can push them.
6.0 kg of dye is needed to paint a cart.
