An animal with eight legs.

Weak against plate and chain armour
Weak against swords.
Can't swim.
25 fighting with at least full studded leather and 30ql weapons recommended. (Wild server)
Avoids deeded areas.
Spiders on the Wild server are stronger then the spiders on the Home server.
Spawns on land.
Successful butchering produces several kgs of meat
Aged spiders run as fast as a player with no load. Younger and older spiders are slower.

Spiders take extra damage from swords. Try to use them.
Using a full set of chain or plate armour
Check the age of the spider. A young spider is an easy kill. An aged spider will aim for the head and may cause up to 30 damage through a (30QL) great helm in one hit.

-In the old system, spiders were very dangerous, and it was quite common to be killed by one when running through the forest. Now, they are much less common and they have been severely nerfed. A huge spider can be killed quite easily by a character with 25 fighting, dual 40ql longswords, and 50ql studded leather.
