Food is what a character needs to eat to fill the hunger bar up. Food can be farmed, fished, butchered, foraged, botanized, and cooked.

You will automatically fast several times but eventually you will no longer be able to fast and will run out of nutrition. The only option once that happens is to eat or suicide...
