The black bear looks pretty kind, but has strong, highly curved claws ready to render you to pieces.

Black bear is a fierce animal to new players, but less so than its cousin brown bear. It can be killed by a well-equipped player without much fighting skill.
It can be tamed with meat or fish. 20+ taming skill recommended.
It is pretty rare and occasionally spawns in mines and from bear caves.
It cannot swim.
