Description
A large kiln-like structure made from logs covered in dirt. The purpose is to turn the logs into tar and charcoal.
A Charcoal charcoal pile is a large coal-making structure made from logs and dirt and lit up with a kindling. When it burnslit, it slowly creates produces charcoal, tar , and ash. They are mainly used to create charcoal in order to make steel lumps.
== Creating Creation == * The quality of the kindling affects the chance of creating a charcoal pile.* The log and dirt affect maximum quality of a charcoal pile is limited by the rate of increase in average quality of the pile when building, according to your raw materials.* The coal-making skill. The quality level is not limited by skill, it is limited by affects how much each added ingredient contributes to the pile's quality of the components added. * A quality 20 charcoal pile will yield approximately 14 tar, charcoal and ash.* It uses 1 Kindling kindling and 1 Log log to create. Using combined kindling will use the entire combined amount.* Pile Charcoal piles cannot be created or continued inside a house.* The last log added determines the wood type of the pile.
Usage
* After finished, light the pile with your steel and flint, with a kindling in your inventory. The pile will slowly damage and create charcoal, tar and ash. A pile will burn for one to six real life days, accumulating the products over time. The higher the quality, the longer the pile will burn and the more product it will produce.
*BattlepantsAfter finishing the pile, light it with steel and flint while carrying kindling.* Once lit, the pile produces charcoal, tar, and ash based on the initial quality of the pile.* Production occurs whenever a decay tick increases the pile' test s damage.* Produced materials can be removed at any time without harming further production.* A charcoal pile will burn for one to six real-life days until it reaches 100 damage.* When the approximation of pile quality reaches 100 damage, it disappears and number of produceall remaining products form an item pile on the ground.*29Higher quality piles produce higher quality items and burn longer, producing more items.75ql birchpile produced 17 charcoals*56Light charcoal piles as soon as possible. Unlit piles will quickly start to take "invisible" damage until lit, at which point the damage becomes visible.58ql birchpile produced 30 charcoals*46Products are produced with the effective quality of the pile at the time of lighting.01ql walnutpile produced 25 charcoals
Battlepants' test for the approximation of pile quality and number of produce:
* The 29.75 QL birch pile products can be removed at any time without harm to further productionproduced 17 charcoals. Damage on charcoal piles no longer reduces the quality of the items created as of 06 March 2014* Light as soon as possible56.58 QL birch pile produced 30 charcoals. Unlit piles will soon start to take "invisible" damage till lit, which is when the damage becomes apparent* 46.01 QL walnut pile produced 25 charcoals.
Notes
* A single charcoal, ash, and tar is produced at each decay tick.
* Wood type affects production:
** Cedarwood piles burn slower due to their decay tick mechanic, but produce the same amount as a non -special wood typetypes.** Oakenwood piles produce more charcoal as materials because they take less decay per tick and thus therefore have more ticks.** Walnut Piles piles give a 10% bonus on to the quality of the items it producesthey produce.** Other wood types appear to have no effect on burn time or charcoal production.* The last log added determines the wood type of the pileMaking 20 piles from discovery without sleep bonus will give around 24 coal-making skill. So you could add 20 pine logs* Per testing, but have decay of items produced by the final one added be an oak log, and you would get an oak charcoal pile.* Ash decays fast, even will start in approximately 2 to 3 days if left inside the active, producing pile as it burns.* Making 31 piles from discovery without sleep bonus will net around 24 CoalRemoving produced items and placing them back inside may remove this decay-making Skillfree period.* It is possible to get create a rarity drumroll while continuing a rare charcoal pile.* A rare charcoal pile which will burn slightly longer and can randomly produce a random number of rare charcoal, rare ash , and rare tar.* All charcoal piles fully occupy one tile.* Despite wood type, all charcoal piles visually appear the same.
