* A tile can be botanized every 24 real hours. It is believed that the timer is triggered by an attempt, and not by an actual item being found. Therefore if nothing is found, try another tile instead of repeatedly trying the same one. Yet tiles not foraged or botanized for a long time can still be empty.
+
* Botanizing a node will deplete it, causing it to disappear.
* Tiles that are not foraged for long periods of time (a week or longer) have a higher chance of giving something than tiles that are checked 24 to 36 hours apart.
+
* Resource nodes spawn randomly, and can take up to a few days for more to appear.
* It also seems that there is a higher chance of getting something if the tile has flowers on it.
+
* Different tile types and location, season, player condition, and other possible variables affect the percentage and type of items that can be botanized. See the Resource nodes page for more details on these modifiers.
* It is possible to both forage and botanize on the same tile as these actions are on separate timers.
+
* You have a chance to obtain rare coin while botanizing.
* Different tiles, player condition, and other possible variables affect the percentage of items that can be botanized.
+
* Botanizing can be done while mounted/driving a vehicle.
* It has been said that you are more likely to find acorns around oak trees.
+
* Botanizing can be done while moving, so long as you do not move too far away (two tiles) from the tile you are currently working on.

Main / Skills / Nature / Botanizing

Description

Botanizing is the skill used when searching Resource nodes for herbs, seeds, vegetables and other plant-related resources.

 • Right-click on a node and select Lore to see a list of possible items you can find from most to least likely. Event messages will also notify you whether there are any resources that you don't have enough skill to identify yet, how many items you can expect to gather, and at what difficulty for your current skill level.
 • Right-click on a node and select Botanize. Some resources can be used to create healing covers or dye, and seeds can be used for farming.

Higher skill reduces the action timer, increases the average quality of the items found, and increases the likelihood of finding more items and rarer items from a node.

Messages

You've found all that you can here. There is nothing more to be botanized on the node.

Notes

 • Botanizing a node will deplete it, causing it to disappear.
 • Resource nodes spawn randomly, and can take up to a few days for more to appear.
 • Different tile types and location, season, player condition, and other possible variables affect the percentage and type of items that can be botanized. See the Resource nodes page for more details on these modifiers.
 • You have a chance to obtain rare coin while botanizing.
 • Botanizing can be done while mounted/driving a vehicle.
 • Botanizing can be done while moving, so long as you do not move too far away (two tiles) from the tile you are currently working on.
